Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information handled when a visitor uses Pamlico County Court Docket. It applies to this private reference resource, not to the official court, clerk, eCourts Portal, or another linked service. Using the resource means accepting the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Information entered into a search widget is sent to the provider operating that tool. We do not maintain a separate log of names, case numbers, or other search terms entered into the provider's service.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you send us a message, we retain it as needed to respond and administer the request. We do not share a message outside our organization unless a legal obligation requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our systems and service providers may collect ordinary technical information when a page loads:

  • IP address and approximate device connection data
  • Browser, device, and operating-system information
  • Pages viewed and general session activity
  • Referring page information when available
  • Dates and times of requests

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies and analytics tools help measure traffic and improve site operation. Browser controls may block cookies, although a service or page feature may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

Technical and contact information is used to operate the resource, respond to messages, diagnose service problems, assess page use, and direct a search request to the provider selected by the visitor. We may also use aggregated activity information to support advertising or improve the resource.

No Court-Record Data on File

We do not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of Pamlico County court files or personal case records. Court-record access is governed by the North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, and court-record provisions in Chapter 7A. Under G.S. 7A-109, the clerk maintains court records, files, dockets, and indexes subject to legal limits. Pamlico case documents remain with the Pamlico Clerk of Superior Court, not with this resource.

Third-Party Search Partners

Providers that operate search tools follow their own privacy notices, retention practices, and terms. Data entered into their tools is handled under their policies. Review those policies before submitting a query because we do not control provider processing or result availability.

Links to Other Websites

Links to the Judicial Branch, eCourts Portal, the Pamlico Clerk, calendars, and other outside resources leave this resource. The destination site's privacy practices govern after that point. Advertising technology may also collect activity under its provider's own policy.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Information may be handled by vendors that provide hosting, analytics, search functionality, advertising, security, or message support, and may be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it.

How We Protect Your Data

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect the information we handle. No online system can promise complete security, so a visitor should avoid sending sensitive case information through an ordinary contact message.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has submitted personal information so that we can review the request.

Your Data Rights

You may request access to or correction of information you provided directly to us, and may ask us to delete information where retention is not required. These requests concern information held by this resource. They do not change public access to a Pamlico court record, which is controlled by North Carolina law, the court, and the custodian identified in Chapter 7A.

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy as services or practices change. The revised version takes effect when posted here.
